Bridesmaids’ Hair Adornments and Bridal Evening Bag

A commission from a bride in the UK. The bride had very specific needs for her wedding. The Bridesmaid dresses were a beautiful but very unusual shade of greyish-green and the two bridesmaids had very different hairstyles—one with long hair and the other with short hair. The bride wanted something simple but attractive for their hair and it need to both tone with the dresses and suit the different hairstyles. The beaded flowers to the left did both. They incorporated not only the green, but also silver to match the bridesmaid accessories. The comb was fixed in the long hair and a set of five hair grips were scattered throughout the shorter hair. The flowers on both matched and the whole ensemble gained much admiration on the day.

The bride herself wanted an evening bag in which to carry a few necessities during the reception. She needed something that would complement her dress, but also be useful after the wedding. The bag to the left is a handcrafted antique style handbag. Completely covered in white beads to tone with the dress, the silver highlights picked out the bride’s silver accessories. In particular, the silver beads in the centre section of the bag and also lining the edge matched the decoration edging the bodice of the wedding dress. A few pearls in the centre section provided the finishing touch to pick up the accent pearls in the bride’s jewellery.
