Iris Bridal Bouquet and Accessories A commission from a bride in Maryland, USA. The bride was working to a
relatively small budget, but she loved iris. She knew she wanted a simple
look, so Bead Flowers worked together with her to design the hand-tied bridal
bouquet on the left. It comprises nine French beaded iris and a mass of
French beaded gypsophila. She wanted the bridesmaids to carry something complementary, but on a
smaller scale than her bouquet. This hand-tied bouquet really leant itself to
scaling down. The photo to the right shows two bouquets, a slightly larger
design for the maid of honour, with five French beaded iris and then a
smaller design for the bridesmaids using just three French beaded iris and
the gypsophila. Initially the bride had planned to use fresh flowers for the
buttonholes and corsage, but found that fresh iris did not work successfully.
It seemed like a better idea to use French beaded flowers instead. The
buttonholes and corsages were designed to complement the rest of her French
Beaded flowers. The photo on the bottom left shows one of the buttonholes for
the bride’s father. Bead Flowers created some distinction between that and
the groom’s buttonhole by giving the groom a yellow iris. It really picks up
the yellow centres to the iris in the bride’s bouquet. The photo on the
bottom right shows one of the corsages. Using very tiny iris and a small
piece of gypsophila, it was designed to complement the bouquet, but be light
enough to safely pin onto an outfit. |
