The bridal bouquet should enhance and complement the wedding dress,
not overpower it. Two important factors to consider are the colour of the
flowers and the shape of the bouquet. Traditionally, bouquets contained primarily or exclusively white
flowers to avoid drawing the attention away from the dress. Increasingly,
brides are using colour in their bouquets. The colour may be dictated by
choosing a particular flower, or it may be an active choice to reflect the
general colour scheme of the wedding. Three basic designs for the bridal bouquet are the cascade, the
nosegay or the hand-tied. Things to bear in mind are the size—a petite bride
would be ill-advised to carry a large bouquet. Particular styles may also
complement the dress. The nosegay tends to be smaller in size and is a round
cluster of flowers, often all of the same variety. It includes very little
greenery. The hand-tied bouquet is less formal, giving the impression of a
‘just picked’ bunch of flowers. The cascade is more traditional and formal.
It resembles a waterfall of flowers cascading from top to bottom. When selecting your French beaded flowers, you may wish to consider

For example, roses or lilies will make good focal points, but are best mixed
with smaller flowers like gypsophila, clover or marigolds. Daffodils will be
more effective used near the edges of a bouquet and combined with different
flowers for the centre. Apple blossom or orchids can create a very effective
